The hotel was located in a central area surrounded by shops and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring St Albans. The rooms, despite being in the basement, were clean and nice. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, ensuring a pleasant stay. The dining options were good value but slightly pricey. Parking during check-in was a bit challenging due to events.
Arriving at the hotel at 2:00 AM and being able to sleep at 3:30 AM felt awkward with people in the rooms, but the accommodations were comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed. The decor seemed a bit dated and drab, though.
The hotel offers good rooms and a nice breakfast selection, yet the proximity to a loud bar and the absence of evening meals can be inconvenient. The service is pleasant and accommodating. The location is ideal for various plans and visits, though some rooms have no view. Facilities are satisfactory.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms, located in a modern annex at the back, were lovely but the temperature fluctuations made it a bit uncomfortable at times. The service, especially at reception and the bar area, was extremely pleasant and friendly. The central location, directly opposite the Cathedral, was superb for exploring the town, although the check-in process felt chaotic. The dining options were decent but nothing extraordinary.
